Air Mauritius has posted a first-quarter loss of €10.4 million, which is an improvement on the €11.9 million loss recorded during the same three month period last year. Operating revenue was up by 12.5% to a record €104.5 million but operating expenses rose by 9.7%. The difficult economy in Europe, high fuel prices, and volatility in the currency exchange rates led to the disappointing results for the airline. The loss at Air Mauritius was increased by €8 million due to the depreciation of the euro against the dollar. There was some good news however as passenger numbers for the quarter
