LATAM Airlines carried 1.6% more passengers in March 2014 than it did in the same month a year-ago. Brazilian domestic passenger traffic increased 6.5%, while non-Brazil domestic passenger traffic rose 5.4%. The airline has been reducing capacity to increase margins, which has served to boost load factors. Overall load factor rose by 4.3 percentage points to 81.7%, while its domestic load factor rose by 5.1 percentage points to 78.8%. LATAM’s international passenger traffic declined by 2.2%, however, with cargo traffic down 6.6%.
