KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has signed an agreement with the Netherlands’ Delft University of Technology to fund the design of a new jet in the style of “Flying wing” aircraft, which date to before the Second World War. The aircraft will be launched into the commercial realm as a way to improve fuel economy in its fleet. The concept, known as the “Flying-V” will have the same wingspan as an Airbus A350, though it will not be as long.
