In an attempt to retain staff, IndiGo has increase pilot salaries by as much as 13%. The Indian airline has been plagued by increased attempts by Gulf carriers to poach highly-skilled commanders from the country. The average increase in salaries for IndiGo 1,448 pilots is around 8%. The carrier, which announced its IPO last week, also gave increments for its non-crew employees two months ago. SpiceJet has also raised salaries of its Q400 captains to retain staff in the face of growing demand.
