Iberia cancels flights due to strike action

Yesterday Iberia was forced to cancel 1,300 flights although the airline stated that most passengers had been re-assigned to other flights. “Iberia has arranged alternative flights for most of the 40,000 passengers booked on flights that were cancelled because of this week’s strike by ground staff and cabin crews. The airline will offer new travel dates or full refunds to the 2,000 passengers it was unable to accommodate.” The strike action also affected flights under franchise arrangements with Iberia including Air Nostrum, or code shares with Iberia Express and Vueling. The airline states: “Under the contingency plan implemented as soon
