International Airlines Group, formed by the merger of Iberia and British Airways, has firmed up an order for eight Airbus A330-300s plus eight options. The aircraft, which will replace the ageing A340s in Iberia’s fleet, will be powered using GE CF6-80E1 engines. The aircraft start delivering in 2013. The airline group has also signed a 15-year OnPointsolution agreement with GE for CF6 MRO materials and services.
