In an interview with Reuters, HK Express Chief Executive Officer Andrew Cowen has stated that the airline is considering operating widebody aircraft to help solve the issue of slot constraints at Hong Kong Airport as well as open up the possibility to add longer-range destinations. “I think we will certainly progress to widebodies,” he told Reuters. “One solution to the slots constraints is to perhaps do fewer frequencies but with widebodies. Obviously widebodies would also allow us to go further afield.” Cowen added that the airline has not made any firm decision but it is considering all aircraft types.
