Stellar Aircraft Leasing has filed a petition to the Hong Kong High Court to have Hong Kong Airlines liquidated due to outstanding debt. The hearing has been scheduled on 11 May. Hong Kong Airlines has struggled throughout the pandemic, laying off or cutting the pay of nearly two-thirds of its employees in June last year. The airline states that it remains in “critical survival mode” but this latest action may push the company into liquidation.
