China’s HNA Group, owners of Hainan Airlines, Tianjin Airlines, Lucky Air, Hong Kong Airlines, Capital Airlines and West Air, has continued to expand rapidly as they have announced plans to create a new passenger carrier in Xi’an. Air Changan will start flights in May 2016 and has already received its Air Operator’s Certificate. Air Changan will operate a fleet of 5 737 aircraft from Xi’an’s Xianyang International Airport and will fly under the ‘9H’ flight code.
