Hawaiian tries to spell out net-zero plan

Hawaiian Airlines has announced more details of what it says is a  “plan to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050”. The statement includes what the carrier described as “commitments to significant progress in the 2030s”, which it added would depend on “several key drivers”. Listing the likes of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), fleet modernisation and “operational best practices to improve fuel efficiency, and advocacy for air traffic control system improvements” in its list of drivers, Hawaiian said SAF would likely be the most important.
