South African carrier FlySafair has stated that it was interested in buying fellow low cost airline Mango from the government. The statement follows the budget speech by South African Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan that said the state should not hold stakes in four carriers. FlySafair said that it would not be interested in being an equity partner in South African Airways, Mango’s parent, but that it would seek to buy Mango, “at the right price,” said the company’s Chief Executive Elmar Conradie.
