Director General of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, Samuel Allotey, has confirmed that five new airlines are preparing to launch operations in Ghana.  The new airlines include Asamoah Gyan’s airline, which has already received an air carrier license, Montrac Air, Goldstar Air, Smile Air, as well as DAC airlines, which are currently undergoing certification. Currently, Ghana has only two local airlines operating – Starbow and Africa World Air. But with the suspension of activity by Starbow due to an accident over the weekend means that all internal air travel is dependent on Africa World Air.
