FedEx Express has taken delivery of its latest Boeing 777 Freighter, which is part of a larger order for 18 new aircraft and 15 options. Because the cargo airline already operates 12 777Fs and has a further 10 on lease, market observers have predicted that the airline will seek to operate as many as 55 777Fs. The new 777F will be used to boost capacity on key routes to allow it to redeploy its fleet of Boeing MD-11 freighters. FedEx is also seeking to replace its fleet of ageing 727Fs with 757Fs.
