Taiwan’s EVA Airways is gearing up to join the Star Alliance. The airline will become an official “future member” on Thursday and will become a full member in a year’s time if it meets certain requirements including the adjustment of its computer systems that will enable passengers to use air miles earned through other alliance members. EVA hopes the move will give it an advantage over rival China Airlines.
