UK low-cost carrier EasyJet has posted a 112.9% increase in net profits for the first six months of 2015 earning £5 million and reversing a loss of £41 million in the same period in 2014. Revenue rose 3.8% during the reporting period to £1.767bn. Total revenue per seat increased by 2.6% year-on-year on a constant currency basis, and by 0.2% per seat on a reported basis, to £54.91 driven, in part, EasyJet said by the “disciplined allocation of capacity, improvement in load factor, strong October trading, timing of Easter and performance of allocated seating”.
