Delta Airlines wants to add five new nonstop flights weekly from Detroit to Beijing from July. The airline has already applied to the US Department of Transportation for permission to fly the route. Delta is hoping international business travel will fuel growth at the airline. “Delta is strongly positioned for future Asian growth thanks to our industry-leading alliances in the region,” says Glen Hauenstein, Delta’s executive vice president.
