Competitors muscle in on the West African market

Ethiopia Airlines, Kenya Airways and South Africa Airways (SAA) are attempting to build market share in West Africa by launching regional carriers with hubs in the region: Ethiopia Airlines with Asky; Kenya and Precision Air; and SAA and RwandAir. Since the demise of Nigeria Airways, Air Afrique and Ghana’s national airline, the region has been without a national dominant carrier.
