China Southern recently resumed direct scheduled flights between Urumqi (China) and Ashgabat (Turkmenistan). The airline has deployed its B737-800 on the route that is operated once every week, on Tuesdays. China Southern Airlines suspended flights to Turkmenistan in early 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Flights to Turkmenistan are operated by four foreign air carriers Belarusian Belavia, S7 Airlines, FlyDubai and Turkish Airlines.
