China Southern Airlines recently broke ground for the construction of its new base at Shenzhen, located in South China’s Guangdong Province that borders Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong.  Total investment in the project is forecasted to reach 2.4 billion yuan over the next five years. The new base will cover an area of 338,000 square meter with dedicated buildings to flight operation, aircraft maintenance, cargo transportation, and a logistics center along with an international cargo terminal. The new centre will also have workshops for flight and maintenance technology innovations plus a laboratory to develop safety procedures for the passenger
