Cathay banks shark fin cargo

Cathay Pacific has announced that it will no longer carry shark fin on its cargo flights in response to pressure from environmental groups. The airline said in a statement that it would “stop shipping unsustainably sourced sharks and shark-related products.” Some 10,500 tons of shark fin were imported into Hong Kong, with Cathay handling as much as 650 tons.
