Boeing has requested a federal court in Illinois to dismiss all or part of the $1bn US action brought by Norwegian for damages incurred due to the grounding of the 737 MAX. The troubled Norwegian airline is attempting to recover the cost of its 18 737 Max aircraft it had purchased. Now that Norwegian is in bankruptcy protection in Ireland, Boeing is attempting to dismiss or at least stall this action. The lawsuit includes claims for damages for the aircraft that it could not use and also involves maintenance agreements with Boeing.
