Baltic Aviation Systems bids for JAT Airways

Baltic Aviation Systems (BAS) has issued a bid for state-owned, loss-making airline JAT Airways. BAS is a minority shareholder of Air Baltic, which is also making losses. The Serbian government extended the bidding period for JAT until October 31 and has the express wish to restructure and reform the airline with “a strategic partner or without it” said Serbian infrastructure minister Milutin Mrkonjic.
