Japanese airline All Nippon Airways has introduced its first AeroSHARK equipped aircraft with its 777 cargo freighter. The first modified aircraft began scheduled cargo operations on September 2, 2024. The surface film technology, inspired by the structure of sharkskin, reduces drag and enhances fuel efficiency. The riblet modification is almost invisible to the naked eye, but is expected to deliver significant fuel and emissions savings.
