American Airlines will list its shares on the Nasdaq Stock Market under the ticker symbol “AAL” after the merger with US Airways is completed. American’s parent, AMR Corp., had been listed on the New York Stock Exchange as “AMR” until the shares were removed shortly after the company filed for bankruptcy protection in November 2011.
