American Airlines, a unit of AMR Corp, reports its September passenger traffic rose 1.9% to 10.24 billion revenue passenger miles or RPMs from 10.05 billion RPMs in the same period last year. Capacity increased 0.3%. American’s available seat miles or system capacity was 12.59 billion, up 0.3% from 12.55 billion ASMs in the prior year period. Load factor for September 2011 was 81.4%, up 1.3 points from 80.1% in September 2010.
