American Airlines and JetSMART move forward with codeshare

American Airlines and JetSMART are moving forward with a codeshare agreement that will allow the sale of domestic flights within Chilean territory operated by JetSMART, which will initially cover routes from Santiago de Chile to Antofagasta, Concepción and Puerto Montt. American Airlines had made an investment in JetSMART in 2021 following which the talks of codeshare were initiated. Currently the request for the implementation of a Code-Share agreement is awaiting the approval of United States Department of Transportation (DOT) in April 2023.
