Alliance Air, India’s domestic low-cost carrier, has recently started two routes on the newly inaugurated Donyi Polo Airport or Hollangi Airport in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. The airport is developed under the India Government’s flagship scheme UDAN to ensure remote connectivity to tier 2 and tier 3 cities. With a 2300-meter-long runway, the airport will allow Arunachal Pradesh to host large aircraft for the first time. Alliance Air will operate flights on Dibrugarh-Itanagar-Ziro and Dibrugarh-Itanagar-Pasighat routes. Earlier this week, IndiGo launched services from Itanagar to Mumbai and Kolkatta.
