Aldus delivers one E175 to Flybe

Aldus Aviation Limited (Aldus) the Shannon-based international aircraft lessor, completed the delivery of a new Embraer E175 aircraft to Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline on June 27. The aircraft is one of thirty five firm E175s ordered by Flybe from Embraer in July 2010. This brings to 20, the number of aircraft in the Aldus all-Embraer E-Jet portfolio.

Stephen Gorman, CEO of Aldus stated: “Aldus is very pleased to have delivered a third aircraft to Flybe, joining two Aldus owned E-195s already in the Flybe fleet. The continued growth of Flybe is largely powered by the E-Jet family and Flybe has firm orders for 35 E-175s. This aircraft is the fourth of 14 to be financed under a unique export credit facility negotiated by Aldus with BNDES, the Brazil Export Bank.”

Commenting on the transaction Andrew Strong, Managing Director of Flybe U.K., said: “We are pleased to have taken delivery of our twenty first E-Jet, and our first E-175 funded by Aldus. We have established a strong working relationship with the Aldus team and are looking forward to completing further leases with them in the future.”

Embraer’s John Slattery, Senior Vice President, Head of Sales Financing & Lessor Sales, said: “Aldus continues to show its confidence in the E-Jet family, adding its first E-175 to its portfolio. Flybe is a major Embraer customer”.
