Speaking to CNBC, Tony Fernandes, chief executive of AirAsia Group, has indicated that there was a “strong chance” the group would be involved in a joint venture in China, although finding the right partner may take time. “I believe there is a strong chance of that happening so we have to wait and see,” he said. “We are not interested in developing what has already been developed…what we have been good at is developing new markets, new traffic, and opening up different parts of China,” he said.
