Air India has lost 48 of its pilots due to poaching by its domestic and international rivals, including IndiGo which is accused of hiring two thirds of those. Although given that Air India’s pilots salary payments have been delayed almost constantly recently and the continuing uncertainty over the future of the airline, it is more of a surprise that so few have jumped ship.
