Air Astana is poised to launch a direct air route to Vietnam. Air Astana President Peter Foster commented to reporters that Vietnam is a dynamic economy with a large population, with great air travel demand. Kazakhstan and Vietnam have entered a new period of economic cooperation, and during a visit to Kazakhstan from September 9-11 by State President Truong Tan Sang, both countries agreed to launch a direct air route between Almaty city and Ho Chi Minh City. The airline plans to launch two flights a week from December.
