8.96 million people travel during Chinese National Day Holiday

Statistics released by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) show that Chinese airlines carried more than 8.96 million passengers during the week-long National Day Holiday from October 1-7. Chinese airlines operated 73,000 flights during the holiday, an increase of 17.7 percent over the year-ago period. The number of passengers traveled by air totaled over 8.96 million, with an increase of 9.8 percent from the same period of 2014.
