The families of the three people who died in the Surgut air crash on Saturday are to receive RUB2 million in insurance payments. One of the engines on the Tupolev-154B aircraft operated by regional airline Kogalymavia caught fire as it was taxiing to takeoff. The fire caused a blast in a fuel tank, which fragmented the plane. Although the aircraft was evacuated before the explosion, three people lost their lives and most the remaining 43 passengers received injuries or burns in the accident.
