Kapital Strakhovaniye, a part of insurer Rosgosstrakh, has named foreign insurance companies, including Berkshire Hathaway International Insurance, Chartis Europe, Assicurazioni Generali, Mapfre Global Risks and Oriental Insurance Company, as defendants in a $32 million court case over damages relating to the crash of the Russian Sukhoi SuperJet that crashed in Indonesia last year. Kapital Strakhovaniye is claiming $32.4 million in damages from the companies that provided insurance to the 48 people on board.
