Finavia calls for new commercial operators at Helsinki Airport

Finavia, the operator of 21 airports in Finland, has opened a public procurement procedure and is calling for new commercial operators at Finland’s largest international airport, Helsinki Airport. The tender will be executed according to the EU Concession Directive and includes a total of 13 new commercial spaces for retail and food & beverage.

“Helsinki Airport ranks as the best airport in Northern Europe. We are known for our continuously developing airport and we work hard with our partners to offer our air passengers as smooth and memorable a customer experience as possible. Our 20 million annual passengers in 2018 and anticipated strong passenger growth will offer an interesting and international customer base for any commercial operator”, says Elena Stenholm, Commercial Director and Vice President of Finavia at Helsinki Airport.

Finavia has a billion-euro development programme in progress in Helsinki Airport. The terminal space will increase by 45 per cent, expanding by a total of 103,000 square metres. With the programme, Finavia is preparing to serve 30 million passengers per year by 2030.
