Boeing has suggested that it could push back any decision on whether to re-engine the 737 to 2011. The manufacturer is in discussions with its 737 customers but Randy Tinseth, vice president of marketing for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, says their feedback has been mixed. “It’s a very dynamic situation … earlier this year we said we’ll make the decision this year, but we are going to take time, all the time for us to make the right decision,” Tinseth said. Airbus is also considering whether to re-engine A320 aircraft or a complete redesign.
