Airbus has increased the list price of its A380 by 8.4% to $375.3 million. The average price for the rest for the aircraft has risen by 4.4%, which has been backdated to the start of this year. Re-engined versions of its short-haul aircraft rose by $6.2 million. Airbus chief operating officer John Leahy said that the manufacturer had been forced to raise prices in order to ramp up production rates to meet “the unprecedented global demand for Airbus aircraft, the required industrial investments we are making, coupled with a weak dollar”.
