Airline traffic has resume normal operations today following a weekend with high cancellations and delays following the disruption caused on Friday when air traffic control services were impacted. Problems were caused when federal air-traffic controllers from adjacent Midwest facilities took over management of flights after a key Chicago center was knocked out of action Friday morning. The FAA has stated that air traffic controllers who normally work at the Federal Aviation Administration’s Chicago En Route Center in Aurora, IL are now working at other surrounding FAA air traffic facilities to help safely maximize the traffic flow in and out of
