Boeing has selected Lexington-based CJMW Architecture to design its welcome and delivery centre at its North Charleston campus. Both are scheduled to open by 2012 to coincide with the start of the assembly of 787 aircraft. The welcome centre is largely for basic administrative purposes but the delivery centre will be where airline executives and foreign dignitaries will pick up their 787 Dreamliners. As such it is expected to be an architectural showpiece, with an atrium, conference spaces and rooftop observational deck.
