Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and subsidiary Mitsubishi Aircraft Corp. are planning to make the first test flight of the Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ) aircraft on May 29. This is the goal however and could be pushed back if problems during tests and inspections of aircraft functions, as well as weather conditions. The MRJ maiden flight is scheduled to take off from Nagoya Airport in Aichi Prefecture, take a route over either the Pacific Ocean or the Sea of Japan depending on weather conditions, and return to the airport.
