JAL to open talks with OEMs for 737 fleet replacement

Japan Airlines (JAL) has stated that it will start to consider replacements for its fleet of 30 737-400s from next year and is looking at proposals from both Boeing and Airbus. “In one year we would like to start some consideration about the replacement of 737 jets,” said JAL chairman Masaru Onishi. “The time will come to replace the 737-400 in a year to five years.”
