EasyJet to use SpaceFlex to add more seats

easyJet has reached agreement with Airbus’ Upgrade Services division for the retrofit of up to 105 of its A320 cabins. The new cabin will feature six additional seats whilst maintaining current passenger comfort levels and in addition it has the capability of allowing full access to one of the lavatories for Persons with Reduced Mobility (PRMs).
In April 2015, Airbus and easyJet celebrated the 250th delivery of Airbus aircraft including some of the latest technology and innovations available. This significant cabin upgrade programme reinforces the airline’s commitment to its fleet.

The new cabin layout is achieved through a combination of the recently certified ‘Max-Pax’ seating capability for the A320 family and the innovative Space-Flex v2 which optimises the cabin space at the rear of the aircraft allowing high service levels to be maintained.

The first line-fit aircraft with Space-Flex V2 will arrive straight from the Airbus production line in May 2016 with the deliveries of upgrade kits for the retrofit aircraft planned between autumn 2016 and spring 2018.
