ATR to upgrade its ATR 42- and 72-600 family

ATR is working on a series of upgrades for its newest ATR 42- and 72-600 family that includes enhancements to its flight management systems to allow the aircraft to operate to airports with limited ground installations, extreme cold weather and steep approaches. ATR is beginning the certification process for Localizer Performance with Vertical Guidance (LPV) approach and for Extended Required Navigation Performance with Authorization Required (RNP-AR).
