Various media sources have reported that Airbus is planning to assemble the A320neo on in Mobile, Alabama, where the European manufacturer is investing millions to develop. Airbus has not yet confirmed the reports. Industry observers are suggesting that US carriers may be more receptive to an aircraft that is manufactured in the US, however new French President Francois Hollande has threatened to punish companies that move jobs overseas, hitting them with tax penalties and cutting state subsidies.
