Chris Emerson, senior vice president of marketing for Airbus has commented on the manufacturer’s decision to limit customization options for cabin interiors on the A350 model. “A good part of the A350 market is lessors, who wanted a quick way to lower their costs of configuration,” Emerson said. “We learned from other programs that you need tight control over your customization.” The decision will help to boost residual values of the aircraft type since it will reduce reconfiguration costs for lessors – the move should also help to boost orders from leasing companies.
