AIRBUS A380 ON TEST RUN IN HANEDA AIRPORT

The Airbus A380 flew to Tokyo’s Haneda airport for the first time to check whether the airport can accommodate the super-jumbo.

During the stopover, various checks will be conducted, including whether the airport’s passenger boarding bridges fit the double-decker wide-body plane’s doors.

Haneda originally states that it could not accommodate the A380 due to its larger wake that requires a longer gap between landings, which the airport said would significantly affect other passenger flights during daytime operating hours.

But the airport now states that the aircraft could be accommodated late at night and in the early morning when the traffic volume is low.
