AIR INDIA TO TAKE DELIVERY OF ITS FIRST 787 IN 2011

Dinesh Keskar, president of Boeing India has confirmed it will deliver the first of its 787 aircraft to Air India (AI) this year. The exact date will be announced at the Aero India show to be held in Bangalore in the second week of February.

Keskar said he will meet with AI chairman soon to inform him about the delivery schedule. AI management had slapped a notice on Boeing demanding compensation of about $850 million for the persistent delay on deliveries of aircraft, which expected the first delivery in September 2008.
