Aeroflot has taken delivery of a new A320 equipped with aerodynamic wing-tips known as Sharklets, becoming the first Russian airline to operate the latest modification from Airbus. The aircraft has been named in honour of Alexander Butlerov, a nineteenth century Russian chemist and creator of the theory of chemical structure of organic substances. Aeroflot CEO Vitaly Saveliev stated: “Aeroflot’s fleet is the best in Russia and one of the most modern in Europe. Continuing to modernize and strengthen our fleet is a top priority as we respond to growth in our markets and execute on our strategic development plans.” All
