The fifth Airbus A350-900 prototype (MSN005) has embarked on route-proving trials as the final part of the A350’s certification process. The trials are designed to demonstrate readiness for airline operations, and will include high density altitude and high elevation airfield performance, auto-land trials, and will also assess compatibility with airport turnaround and handling services. The A350’s itinerary includes 14 major airports worldwide, including one route via the North Pole. Some of the flights will carry passengers.
