Tommy Suharto, the son of Indonesia’s late president, has denied allegations that he was bribed by Rolls-Royce to pursued Garuda Indonesia to choose its engines in a letter to the UK Serious Fraud Office (SFO). Even though there is no legal case ongoing and the SFO did not request any such statement, in the letter, Suharto’s lawyers stated that he was not given $20 million or a Rolls-Royce car to encourage Garuda to buy Trent 700 engines in 1990 in an attempt to clear his name.
